Together in the realm of fantasy we dream up new realities where artist parents are seen as vital for representation within the whole social spectrum in art.

Bio’s
Asher O\u2019Gorman APL associate<\/a><\/span>,<\/span> Irish-British artist works as a dancer, choreographer and hosts workshops in various kaleidoscopic collaborative settings. Her work is a meeting of choreographic and visual art practices. Asher holds a B.A. in choreography (DCA), a diploma in Dance from (SEAD) and M.A. from TransArts Die Angewandte. Asher\u2019s latest work \u2018stroke all the colours out of the sky\u2019 was premiered at brut theatre 2023. In 2021 Asher became a member of APL and initiated the organisation HOOD for Artist Parents. <\/span>asherogorman.com<\/a> IG@asherogorman<\/span><\/h6>
Andrea Gunnlaugsd\u00f3ttir
born in Reykjav\u00edk, Iceland, is a dancer and choreographer living in Vienna. In both independent and collaborative constellations her works move along the intersection of dance and performance, sometimes seeking formats beyond the stage. Her latest work CUMULUS in collaboration with artist Claudia Lomoschitz recently toured in Austria and Iceland and will soon be traveling to Norway. Andrea has collaborated with many Vienna based artists such as Doris Uhlich, Alix Eynaudi, Andrea Maurer, Veza Fernandes a.o. Next she will be stepping on stage in brut Wien in the work of choreographer Sara Lanner. Andrea has juggled co-parenting of two kids alongside her artistic career from the start, gaining some experience in feeling a lot of FOMO.<\/span><\/h6>

Audio Trouble, Para-Listening, and Sounding Research (eds. R. Denzer & C. H\u00f6ller, De Gruyter 12\/2023) will take place.<\/h6>
Ricarda Denzer<\/strong> (artist, Vienna) presents an audio-visual essay about her new book Ricarda Denzer \u2013 <\/em>ganz ohr \/ all ear<\/em>. Here, the practice of listening undergoes its own distinctive process of settling upon a certain form.<\/h6>
Christian H\u00f6ller<\/strong> (author and co-editor, Vienna), gives the short lecture \u201cPara-Listening as World Exploration.\u201d<\/h6>
Karen Werner<\/strong> (sound artist, Bergen) presents her \u201cre \u2013 radio, a narrowcast,\u201d which, like radio, is \u201cconstituted through a powerful relationship between electricity and magnetism, as well as between senders and receivers.\u201d Shawn Wilson says \u201crelationships do not merely shape reality, they are reality.\u201d In the spirit of speaking nearby invoked in Ricarda Denzer\u2019s ganz ohr \/ all ears<\/em>, \u201cre \u2013 radio, a narrowcast\u201d will engage with \u201crelationality through sound, word, radio and spaces between us\u201d (Werner).\u00a0<\/h6>
Followed by a conversation between editors Ricarda Denzer<\/strong> and Christian H\u00f6ller<\/strong>, artist Karen Werner<\/strong>, and graphic designer Hannah Sakai<\/strong> with curator Christiane Erharter<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/h6>
Perceived as continual processes, hearing and listening represent physical, performative acts or creative participation in the world that fosters critical and care-driven agency, while seeking to enable alternative narrative modes. A process in which \u201csomething that is not simply already in existence\u2014whether separate or merged\u2014enters into relationship, becomes<\/em> relationship.\u201d Para-Listening<\/em>, as one might call this reciprocal process between hearing and who or what is heard, therefore asserts a constitutive element of tension, a \u201cbeing-with,\u201d encompassing myriad cross-references and defying any presumed subject\u2013object difference.<\/h6>

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA, the symposium\/podium “Against all Odds – a sympodium of movements of body and thought” poses the question “How to continue dancing (against)? In a discursive parcour, performative-artistic, theoretical and personal reactions to the central question will be presented in analogue and digital form. Further the evening documents, discusses, appreciates and celebrates 30 years of TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA. Developments in dance theory and socio-politics will be placed in the context of the history of the festival as a meeting point and place of artistic exchange for the (inter)national dance scene.
The Viennese artist and performer Nikolaus Gansterer will transform the spoken contributions and lectures live in the form of a translecture performance by building “hybrid sculptures” that visualise the movements of thought in relation to the contributions. Questionology ist eine Forschungsumgebung von Cordula Daus und Charlotta Ruth. Gemeinsam mit einem Team von Quasi-Doktor*innen haben sie ein begehbares Programm entworfen, das die vielleicht letzte, wirklich menschliche Eigenschaft trainiert: zu fragen und in Frage zu stellen. Die Teilnehmer*innen sind eingeladen, verlorene Dinge und Gedanken aufzusp\u00fcren und wiederherzustellen. Techniken aus Sprachkunst, Choreografie, Hebammenkunde, Neurowissenschaft, Witchcraft und Software-Engineering helfen dabei und produzieren neue Intelligenzen.<\/p>

Parallel zu dem zweij\u00e4hrig angelegten k\u00fcnstlerischen Projekt im \u00f6ffentlichen touristischen Raum entlang der Gro\u00dfglockner Hochalpenstra\u00dfe zeigt das MMKK rund um das ber\u00fchmte Glocknergem\u00e4lde von Markus Pernhart filigranere Bilder, Skulpturen und Installationen, die der extremen Witterung am Berg nicht standhalten w\u00fcrden. Die mehrheitlich recherchebasiert arbeitenden K\u00fcnstler*innen sch\u00e4rfen hier wie dort den Blick f\u00fcr Themen, die in der Geschichte des Stra\u00dfenprojekts bereits angelegt sind: die Obsession zur Beherrschung der Natur, der Weg als Ziel, die Stra\u00dfe als Sportger\u00e4t, Teststrecke und Wallfahrtsroute, die Gl\u00fccksgef\u00fchle und Todes\u00e4ngste, die sich hier gleicherma\u00dfen einstellen, die Fahrzeuge als essentielle Weggef\u00e4hrt*innen, die Vertreter*innen der menschlichen Spezies in gro\u00dfer Anzahl und Dichte hoch hinauf und tief hinunter durch die Landschaft tragen, durch Lebensr\u00e4ume von Wild- und Nutztieren, entlang steigender Schneegrenzen und schmelzender Gletscher \u2013 deren Erhabenheit wie auch Verletzlichkeit immer vor Augen.<\/p>

In parallel to the two-year public art project along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the MMKK is showing additional pictures and installations around the famous Glockner painting by Markus Pernhart: more filigree pictures, sculptures, and installations which would not withstand the extreme weather conditions on the mountain.<\/em>
The artists, most of who make research-based works, sharpen our view for themes that are already inherent in the history of the road project: the obsession with mastering nature, the path is the goal, the road as a piece of sports equipment, test track and pilgrimage route, the feelings of happiness and fear of death that arise here in equal measure, the vehicles as essential companions that carry representatives of the human species in great numbers and density up and down through the landscape, through the habitats of wild and farm animals, along rising snow lines and melting glaciers \u2013 their sublimity and vulnerability always before our eyes.<\/em><\/p>

The artists have come together remotely from their respective cities (Vienna and Bristol) to work within one another’s fields – choreography, visual arts and sound. They have crafted and curated packages for two people to use at home after sundown. Inside the packages lie a collection of materials and the guidance to enter a sensuous home performance and conjure visions; at once scientific and magical, ancient and futuristic.<\/p>

if a bee falls in(to) a box<\/strong> is the first of two parts. The second part of the work, if a bee falls in a forest<\/strong>, is a live, immersive performance installation, which will premiere at WUK performing arts in 2022.<\/p>

In der Ausstellung PITCH CONTROL (zu deutsch \u201eTonh\u00f6henregelung\u201c ) in der Dominikanerkirche Krems verhandelt die K\u00fcnstlerin den Grundton\/Kammerton \u201eA\u201c. Die neuen Arbeiten sind von der gotischen Architektur und dem Verh\u00e4ltnis vom K\u00f6rper zum Raum inspiriert. Das Zentrum der k\u00fcnstlerischen Installation bildet das Werk A – a Three Body Problem. Die physische Arbeit besteht aus drei Teilen: Einem Instrument in Form einer Skulptur, einem Chor als Videoarbeit und der Einschreibung selbst als Bild.<\/p>

Die Komposition f\u00fcr das Instrument ist eine Performance f\u00fcr K\u00f6rper, Seele und Geist und kann von mehreren befreundeten Menschen unter Anleitung der K\u00fcnstlerin gleichzeitig bespielt werden. Sie geben gemeinsam einen Takt an. Das Instrument schwingt wie ein Metronom in- und gegeneinander. Es bleibt spannend, ob es einen Kipppunkt gibt und wie Gleichgewicht hergestellt werden kann.<\/p>

Die Schwingung des Instruments kann auch \u00fcber eine Augmented Reality Installation mit Hilfe des Smartphones eingesehen werden. Das animierte Modell zeigt die Bewegung und erweitert den Raum um eine digitale Komponente. Die Umsetzung dieser Installation erfolgt in Kooperation mit dem Artificial Museum. Die Arbeit wird w\u00e4hrend der Ausstellung online und in der Dominikanerkirche sichtbar sein.<\/p><\/div>

Wir werden von Bakterien und Viren besiedelt, so wie wir Menschen H\u00e4user, St\u00e4dte und Umgebungen besiedeln. Wir dienen auch als Wirte f\u00fcr Ideologien, Medien und Technologien.\u00a0Der 1991 von der Biologin Lynn Margulis gepr\u00e4gte Begriff \u201aHolobiont\u2019 beschreibt uns als ein von der Biosph\u00e4re durchdrungenes Gesamtlebewesen. \u201aHolobiont\u2019 sprengt das Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis individuellen Lebens, vernetzt uns \u00fcber unser Mikrobiom symbiontisch mit anderen Organismen, st\u00f6rt die Teilung in Subjekt und Objekt und kr\u00e4nkt unser gewohntes Ich-Konzept.<\/p>

Die sozialen und psychischen Transformationen der letzten Monate bringen ins Bewusstsein, da\u00df \u201aLeben\u2019 vor allem jenes anderer als menschlicher Akteure ist.<\/p>

Einfache Grenzziehungen halten dieser Dynamik nicht mehr stand. \u201aWir\u2019 erfahren \u201auns\u2019 als transitorische Wesen, die zwischen digitalen und molekularen Welten treiben und sp\u00fcren die Grenzverwindungen in uns als M\u00f6glichkeit einer neuen Sprache jenseits einer symbolischen Distanz zur Welt.\u00a0<\/p>

Mit der Ausstellung HOLOBIONT zeigt das Magazin4 K\u00f6rper, Umwelten, Texte, Medien, Maschinen und biologische Organismen \u2013 verdichtet zu zehn Bildr\u00e4umen, von denen jeder eine Erz\u00e4hlung \u00fcber ein anderes Leben und \u00fcber das Leben der Anderen darstellt: LIFE IS OTHER! Anhand verschiedener Methoden, theoretischer Konzepte, Prozesse und Metaphern wird die Galerie zu einem “Holospace” – einem Magazin im Magazin.<\/p>
