The<\/strong> Angewandte Performance Laboratory<\/strong>(APL)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Angewandte Performance Laboratory (APL) is a transversal platform for promoting performative art forms at the Angewandte.<\/p>\n

Performative practices and notions of performativity are recognized as full-fledged aspects of contemporary art and design. It is in this perspective that key-actors of the University of Applied Arts Vienna are launching the Angewandte Performance Lab (APL). The APL is a transversal artistic research and education platform that focusses on the relationship between the body, perception, and the arts and society in a post-digital context. Its purpose is to serve as an incubator to promote performance as an artistic medium and as a field of research.<\/p>\n

By combining in-house and international expertise, the APL offers body training practices; digital performance workshops; conferences, symposia, and publications; master classes and presentations by guest artists; project development; and a forum for public presentations.<\/p>\n

The APL supports the diversity of distinctive approaches while facilitating their convergence through interdepartmental collaboration in:<\/p>\n

  • Socio-cultural, political, and site-specific interventions<\/li>\n
  • Somatic practices, improvisation, and notation strategies<\/li>\n
  • Hybridization and performativity of media and technologies<\/li>\n
  • Agency of the living and non-living<\/li>\n
  • Historical and investigative dimensions of performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The APL initiated this dialogue in the year 2019.<\/p>\n

    Das Angewandte Performance Laboratory (APL) ist eine transversale Plattform zur F\u00f6rderung der performativen Kunstformen an der Angewandten.<\/p>\n

    Das Angewandte Performance Lab (APL)
    Performance und Performativit\u00e4t sind l\u00e4ngst als integrale Aspekte zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Kunst und Design Praxen anerkannt. Daher gr\u00fcndete die Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Angewandte Kunst Wien das Angewandte Performance Laboratory (APL). Als transversale Plattform f\u00fcr Forschung und Lehre, affirmiert das APL die Beziehung von K\u00f6rper, Wahrnehmung und Kunst und Gesellschaft in post-digitalen Kontexten. Das APL dient der F\u00f6rderung von Performance als k\u00fcnstlerischer Ausdrucksform und Methode der Forschung. Die B\u00fcndelung universit\u00e4tsinterner und internationaler Expertisen erm\u00f6glicht professionelle somatische Trainings; digitale Performance Workshops; themenspezifische Konferenzen und Symposien; Publikationen; Gastvortr\u00e4ge; Projektentwicklungen und ein Forum f\u00fcr \u00f6ffentliche Pr\u00e4sentationen.
    Das APL unterst\u00fctzt die Vielfalt unterschiedlicher Ans\u00e4tze durch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Abteilungen bei:<\/p>\n

    • Sozio-kulturellen, politischen und ortsspezifischen Interventionen<\/li>\n
    • Somatischen Praxen, Improvisationen und Systemen der choreografischen Notation<\/li>\n
    • Hybridisierung und Performativit\u00e4t der Medien und Technologien<\/li>\n
    • Fragen zu menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Handlungspotentialen<\/li>\n
    • Geschichtlichen und theoretisch forschenden Aspekten von Performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Das APL hat diesen Dialog im Jahr 2019 begonnen und bietet aktuell eine \u00dcbersicht der bestehenden Lehrveranstaltungen in Performance an der Angewandten, individuelles Coaching und Veranstaltungen.<\/p>\n
