Organisation

Vision
Multi-perspective knowledge, somatic practice and body-centred thinking are put into practice within the applied arts, the independent arts scene and society at large. Sustainability and diversity have become the norm. To this end, expertise and resources are pooled within the APL, and the energy of all APL stakeholders is channelled in this direction.
Mission
- We collaborate with all departments at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
- Through our artistic practice, we position the APL as a best-practice hub and, through cross-disciplinary collaboration, act as a forum for exchange on somatic practice, sustainability and lived diversity. The APL serves as a flagship lab and showcase for performative research and teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, both in Austria and across Europe.
- Through our performance activities, we provide long-term support for processes of social change and network with partners across Austria and the EU.
- As the APL, we collaborate with the independent arts scene whilst also being an integral part of it.
- Our flexible organisational structure enables the sustainable realisation of our creative projects.
- We publish our achievements in books and journals.
