Dérive chromatique
What happens when we surrender our destinations to the streets? Merging the Situationist Dérive with my practice of poetic flânerie, walking transforms into performative research. Guided by Pantone cards as psychogeographical compasses, a single color navigates our rhythm through the urban rush. We allow perception to become a performative tool, channeling a photographic gaze to isolate overlooked details within the bustling public space. In these fleeting encounters, the city’s noise collapses into a single focal point, revealing the unexpected origin of a new, fictional narrative.
Sebastiano Sing is a director, author, spoken soloist and artistic director of Tanztheater Sing. His work has been presented internationally, including MATHIEU at ImPulsTanz Festival in 2023. In 2020, his work was shown in a solo exhibition at Wien Museum musa; another work is held in the City of Vienna Art Collection. He studied Performative Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Grants include the Austrian State Grant for Media Art and the City of Vienna Project Grant for Literature.
